Abstract :
This research was conducted in Surabaya Plaza Hotel which aims to determine the
increase in innovation through empowerment. The informants are representative of each - each
existing departments, namely 9 departments. The informants who represent the employees is 30
informants, while the 5 informants representing management. Information relating to the
innovation and implementation of empowerment derived from direct interviews with all
informants, conduct field observations and collecting secondary data on the company. All data
collected will be done so that the triangulation can be drawn one conclusion. Results from this
study is that the implementation of empowerment at Surabaya Plaza Hotel has been going well
although not exactly run 100% perfect. Management has been working to provide full support
for the implementation of empowerment, and it is important in the successful implementation of
empowerment is a commitment from the employer who holds the attitude control functions,
correction and control of internal and external needs of employees.
