Abstract :
The aim of this research is to test and analyze the effect of working capital
management indicators such as cash conversion cycle, working capital turnover, and sales
growth on profitability and than firm size on profitability of the manufacturing basic industry
dan chemicals sector that listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. The variables in this research
are cash conversion cycle, working capital turnover, sales growth and firm size as
independen variables and profitability was measured with Return On Assets (ROA) as a
dependen variable. Cash conversion cycle variable consist of inventory turnover in days,
average collection period, and average payment period also explained about profitability.The
sample of this research are manufacturing firm in basic industry dan chemicals sector that
listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. The sample of this research are 48 firms during 2011-
2013. The result of this research showed that cash conversion cycle consist inventory
turnover in days, average collection period, and average payment period have a significant
negative effect to the profitability, and than sales growth have a significant positive effect to
the profitability, but there are no significant effect between working capital turnover and
profitability, and firm size to profitability.
