Abstract :
Work fatigue is a condition that causes decreased work performance,
reduced endurance, and physical strength of a person which can trigger work
accidents. Driving while drowsy is a driving disorder that hurts health and has
major consequences for individuals and society, including loss of life and economic
losses resulting from motor vehicle accidents. This research aims to determine the
factors associated with work fatigue of Tank Car Crews at PT Pertamina Patra
Niaga Fuel Terminal Rewulu. This research was conducted in February - June 2024.
This type of research is qualitative descriptive research with a quantitative
approach using a cross-sectional study design. The variables studied were work
fatigue, age, nutritional status, sleep quantity, mental workload, driving duration,
rest time, working time, steering design, vehicle condition, and ergonomics. The
research sample consisted of 128 respondents with the sampling technique being
saturated sampling or total sampling. Data analysis used was univariate, bivariate,
bootstrapping, and rula.
The research results of Tank Car Crews showed that 43.8% experienced mild
fatigue, 35.9% experienced moderate fatigue and 20.3% experienced severe
fatigue. Based on bivariate analysis, some variables are related to work fatigue,
namely age (0.000), nutritional status (0.004), sleep quantity (0.000), mental
workload (0.000), driving duration (0.000), and working time (0.000). While the
variable that has no relationship is rest time (0.449). Meanwhile, the bootstrapping
analysis of working time has no relationship (0.419). The steering design of the
tank car is less ergonomic, the vehicle's condition needs repair for damage related
to safety, and the ergonomics of the Tank Car Crew is at moderate risk. To avoid
work fatigue, the company Should supervise tanker crew members who are tired
to rest after delivering fuel oil. Tank Car Crews are expected to maintain a healthy
lifestyle by exercising regularly before work, avoiding smoking, and not consuming
alcoholic drinks to keep their bodies healthy.
