Abstract :
Black liquor is a by-product of the wood fiber separation process in the pulp and paper industry. The PF-1B tank on the vacuum evaporator is the place where the black liquor is collected before further processing. In this research, the author analyzed the black liquor in the PF-1B tank by monitoring the temperature using the PT 100 RTD sensor. The PT 100 RTD sensor on the PF-1B tank has a set point of 130 °C. From the research results, it can be concluded that if the set point value is less than 130 °C, the control valve will close with a percentage of 0%, whereas with a set point of more than 130 °C, the control valve will open with a percentage of 80% to reduce the temperature of the black liquor in the tank. Black liquor temperature analysis is essential to ensure equipment performance and improve production process efficiency and operational safety.
