Abstract :
Canteen is one of the public places for eultivate and provide food that has potential against the occurrence and health-impaired food contamination. This research aims to determine the description of hygiene and sanitation of school canteen in Turi subdishict, type of descriptive survey research. The population was 11 junior canteen in Turi suMistrict and research samples was 1l canteen. Research variable is the hygiene of food repellent, building construction, sanitation facilities and flies density.The results showed that the hygiene and sanitation of the junior high school canteen in Turi District as much as 7 canteens (63.64%) did not meet the requirements and 4 canteens (36.36%) fulfilled the requirements, 11 food handlers (100o/o) fulfilled the requirements, Construction building 5 canteen (45.46W did not meet the requirements and 6 canteens (54.54%) fulfilled the requirements, sanitation facilities 9 canteens (81.8270) did not meet the requirements and2 canteens (18.18olo) fulfilled the requirements, all canteen density of flies meets the requirements, a healthy school canteen ifl Turi District has 4'school canteens {3fi6YA. Expectcd in increasc of hygiene and sanitation of school canteens so that all school canteens in Turi Subdishicl can meet the requirements.
