Abstract :
Sexually Transmitted Diseases are diseases that can be transmitted through sexual contact. According to the Health Department of DIY (2016) that the number of patients with sexually transmitted diseases in Gunungkidul as many as 367 patients. Based on a report from the Ponjong 1 Health Clinic in 2016, there are 8 families with sexually transmitted diseases in Genjahan. This research study aimed to know the description of family knowledge that has teenagers (13-15 years old) about sexually transmitted diseases in Genjahan, Ponjong, Gunungkidul based on the characteristics of education, occupation, age, and gender. This research uses descriptive research type as research design. The sampling technique used is proportional random sampling with 88 respondents. The instrument used is with the questionnaire. The results of the study showed that the description of family knowledge that had teenagers (13-15 years old) about sexually transmitted diseases in Genjahan, Ponjong, Gunungkidul included in enough category, most of the last education is Senior High School (45,4%), the most respondents jobs are trader (32,9%), the age range 36-45 years old (28,4% ), and most of respondents are female (57,9%). The description of family knowledge that has teenagers (13-15 years old) ,about sexually transmitted diseases in Genjahan, Ponjong, Gunungkidul is included in enough category (47%).
