Abstract :
On August 26, 2019 the Precident of Republic Indonesia, Joko Widodo announced the relocation of State Capital to the East Borneo region. The relocation of State Capital to the East Borneo region will have a major impact for Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Balikpapan International Airport which become the gateway to State Capital. This research will analyze the potential of airplane passengers use correlation analyze and linear regression analyze within SPSS software with the independent variable is total of airplane passengers and the independent variable is total of populations, total of colleges, total of hospitals, total of hotels, total of tourist attractions and total of public transportations. This research also predicts the total of passengers in 2023 to 2025. The analytical data was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Balikpapan City, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency on 2011 to 2020. The results showed that the most influencing factor of total passengers is the total residents. The large influence of total populations for total passengers is indicated by the value of correlation coefficient (R) 0,394 and the value of determination (R Square) 0,155 and the value of regression coefficient is 28,263. The larger of populations, total passengers more than too. The number of passengers on 2023 is 3.887.426 passengers, on 2024 is 4.293.474 passengers and on 2025 is 4.704.157 passengers.
