Abstract :
The need for propellers in the aeromodeling world is very high so that to produce maximum thrust is done by designing a propeller that is useful to support this performance. The purpose of propeller design is to determine the effect of the number of blades on the thrust value and power consumption by comparing the performance of the designed propeller with the manufacturer's propeller. In the design there are 3 stages, namely determining geometry, 3D modeling, and manufacturing using the 3D printing resin method. In this study, the results of propeller design with variations of 2, 3, 4 blades and propeller testing using propeller test bench test equipment were obtained. From this test, the highest static thrust is produced by a propeller with 4 blades at the same rotational speed or rpm. Also obtained a comparison of the performance results of the propeller designed with the manufacturer with the same propeller size of 7 inches. The designed propeller produces greater thrust than the manufacturer's propeller with a thrust value of 3.932 N or 12% higher than the parikan thrust (3.515 N).
