Abstract :
The use of ethanol or alcohol in drinks is well known. Because the amount
of alcohol used in beverages is very large, it is not surprising that many news
cases of acute or chronic poisoning due to alcohol often occur. For this reason, a
device can be used to detect the presence of alcohol in a liquid and display the
concentration level of alcohol.
Alcohol Detection has been made using IOT-Based MQ-3 Sensor
(INTERNET OF THINGS). The MQ-3 sensor detects the presence of alcohol. This
tool can be used to determine the alcohol content contained in the liquid which is
measured using an MQ-3 sensor. The device that has been made consists of
several components, namely the MQ-3 alcohol sensor to detect alcohol content,
Arduino Uno, LCD and Esp8266. Arduino as the main control on this tool will
process data from the MQ-3 sensor output, then the results will be displayed on
the LCD and will also be displayed on the IoT platform using Esp8266.
Based on the test results. After testing twice the MQ-3 sensor with the
same dose of water and alcohol but using a different container, namely glass and
bowl, the average difference in value is 0.12 and the average error is 9%.
