Abstract :
Aluminum is one of the most widely used engineering materials used for construction purposes because it is light and strong. The aluminum alloy requires a series of processes to improve the strength of the material before it is used as an aircraft structure material. The specimens in this research were heat treated with temperatures of 300?C, 350?C and 400?C and time hold 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes. Then, the quenching process was carried out with oil medium. This test used hardness testing brinell. From the results of the study, the highest hardness value occurred at an aging temperature of 400?C for 90 minutes with a hardness value of 119.09 BHN. Based on the calculation, the brinell hardness value increased by 30.40% from the brinell hardness value in the test specimen before being given aging treatment.
