Abstract :
The protection system in home electrical installations is very necessary for the quality of electricity, a good protection system is able to localize disturbances such as overload. Control of the protection system itself must be fast and sensitive in responding to disturbances so that it immediately orders the protection system to work. In this research, an IoT-based overload protection system was created that works if the current value is more than 2
Amperes, using PZEM 004-t as a current reading sensor and
NodeMCU ESP8266 as a WiFi module to control load usage
remotely. By using the display media in the form of the BLYNK application on an Android Smartphone, load usage can be controlled remotely via an internet connection. This protection system uses 1 main relay as protection and 4 auxiliary relays as load controllers in the form of an outlet. The output voltage from the current sensor is programmed using Arduino to operate a relay which will cut off the electricity when the current value is read more than 2 Amperes. With this system we can monitor and control the use of the load on the house.
