Abstract :
Breast milk is an emulsion of fat in a solution of protein, lactose and inorganic salts secreted by the mother's mammary glands, which is useful as food for her baby (Depkes RI, 2012). The limited knowledge of breastfeeding mothers is a personal problem for mothers that causes psychological changes. So a facilitator is needed in order to solve the problem of exclusive breastfeeding. Health education using booklets is more practical. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of health education on exclusive breastfeeding through booklet media on the level of knowledge of breastfeeding mothers at the Lorulun Nursing Community Health Center, Wer Tamrian District, Tanimbar Islands District. This research uses quantitative research. The method used is pre-experimental. The design of this study applies a one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were breastfeeding mothers at the Lorulun Nursing Community Health Center, Wer Tamrian District, Tanimbar Islands Regency in March-April as many as 30 people. The technique used in this study is a total sampling technique of 30 respondents. The data analysis technique used in this study consisted of univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the study obtained that the p-value had the effect of health education on exclusive breastfeeding through booklet media on the level of knowledge of breastfeeding mothers at the Lorulun Nursing Community Health Center, Wer Tamrian District, Tanimbar Islands Regency with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that the media booklet about exclusive breastfeeding has an effect on maternal knowledge at the Lorulun Nursing Community Health Center, Wer Tamrian District, Tanimbar Islands District.
