MIDWIFERY STUDY PROGRAM GRADUATE PROGRAM KUSUMA HUSADA UNIVERSITY SURAKARTA 2023 HENDRATI THE EFFECT OF HEALTH EDUCATION WITH MEDIA BOOKLET ON THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF MOTHERS ABOUT UMBILICAL CORD CARE IN NEWBORNS IN GAYAM SUKOHARJO VILLAGE ABSTRACT Umbilical cord infections are commonly found in developing countries due to the high level of unhygienic cord care practices. These unhygienic habits are often carried out by mothers in general, so that they can pose a high risk of infection. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using booklet media on the level of mother's knowledge about umbilical cord care in newborns. This study used a Quasi Experiment with the One Group Pretest-Postest design. The population of this study were post partum mothers on days 2-3 (kf2) in Gayam Sukoharjo Village. In March 2023 there were 30 post partum mothers in the Gayam Sukoharjo Village. Characteristics based on the age of the majority of respondents aged 21-30 years there were 21 people (70%), there were 14 people with university education (46.67%) and there were 19 working mothers (63.33%). Mother's knowledge about umbilical cord care in newborns before being given health education with booklet media, most of the respondents were in the moderate category, there were 16 people (53.33%) and after being given health education with booklet media, most of the respondents were in the good category, there were 18 people (60%). There is an effect of health education using booklet media on the level of mother's knowledge about umbilical cord care in newborns with the result of p = 0.000.
