Abstract :
This study aims to prove that there are differences in financial performance before and after the merger with the economic and non- economic motives are seen from the ROE ( Return on Equity ) and DER ( Debt Equity Ratio ). The population of this research is the company that merged in 2008-2011. Sample were determined using the purposive sampling method. The study sample was obtained as many as 16 companies. Hypothesis testing using SPSS 17.0, with the Wilcoxon signed rank test test. The results showed that there was no difference in financial performance before and after the merger with the economic and non-economic motives seen from the ROE ( Return on Equity ) and DER ( Debt Equity Ratio ).
