Abstract :
As the human population growth in world continues to increase, consumption and goods production is also increasing. From these activities, collected waste materials from the activities of consumption and production are scattered known as waste. The low ability to manage waste along with the imbalance of garbage production makes garbage accumulate everywhere. The problem of waste accumulation also occurred in Palembang City which has entered the emergency category. The location of the main problem is not due to low waste management due to the limited facilities and infrastructure owned by the Office of Market and City Sanitation Department. However, because the waste is not sorted and differentiated types due to low public awareness. With the planning and design of Palembang Creative Upcycle Center, precisely in the area of 30 Ilir can be a place that educates the public in the importance of sorting and processing waste into more valuable goods. Palembang Creative Upcycle Center consists of several facilities, namely exhibition hall, auditorium, art and play studio, cafe and management office. All these facilities are accommodated in two building masses. The theme applied is "From Junk to F.U.N.K". That theme has meaning this building is beneficial, environmentally friendly and the building material uses shipping container. Theme is manifested through a contemporary modern form with an ecological approach.
