Abstract :
PT Sintong Makmur Abadi Palembang is one company that is engaged in the workshop. Scheduling of production is often disrupted due to a sudden demand for other products with the same due date or sooner, leading to the demand / customer orders can not be fulfilled. this is very detrimental to the company because of the cost of production, production time, the production process has changed the schedule of the planned and kridibilitas company. It needs to make a production schedule that can help in making decisions to minimize the delay in the completion of the request / order. In this study designed a scheduling using the Forward and Backward Scheduling algorithm Sheduling shift job. To produce a minimum delay time Sintong Makmur Abadi PT Palembang need to do scheduling with the method of Forward Scheduling algorithm shifts in the job scheduling process and degsel engine block. The resulting makespan of 385 minutes, with a time delay of 90 minutes and the total cost of the manufacturing process is $ 527,222
