Abstract :
Background : Hypertension is one disease that can increase the risk of falling. Purpose : Know the description of knowledge and attitude of hypertension patient about risk fall and handling of hypertension emergency in work area of Puskesmas Sukarami Palembang. Method : this research is a quantitative research with descriptive survey approach. Sample 88 respondents with simple random sampling technique. Result : the result of this study were analyzed by using univariate test and obtained the result that the percentage of responden who have a high knowledge about the risk fell as many as 19 people (22,4%), while respondents who have high knowledge about handling of hypertensive emergency as much 9 people(10,6%), knowledge of medium as many as 48 people (56,5% and respondent having enough knowledge as much 28 people (32,9%). The percentage of respondent who had a positive attitude about the trisk fell as many as 35 people (41,2%) and who have a neutral attitude of 50 responden (58,8%), while the percentage that has a positive attitude about the handling of hypertension emergency as much as 11 person (12,9%) and who have a neutral attitude of 74 respondents (87,2%). The result of this study indicate that knowledge and attitude of the respondent about the risk of falling and handling of hypertensive emergency is good enough, this is evidenced by the high level of knowlwdgge and the neutral attitude of respondents to the risk of falling and the handling of hypertensive emergencies.
