Abstract :
Background :Preschool children are children aged 3 to 5 who have not reached the level of elementary school education. Preschool age is also called the golden age because at this age the growth and development of children develops very rapidly in every aspect of its development. The aspects of preschool development are gross motoric, fine motoric, language and social. Aim :This study aims to determine the description of maternal knowledge about preschool child development at the Kindergarten Teratai in Sukarami Palembang. Mhetod :This study uses a quantitative method with a cross sectional research design. Popilation in this study was all mothers who had children at the Palembang Teratai Kindergarten. Sampling technique with total sampling with a sample of 81 respondents. Data processing is carried out by the Univariate Analysis stst test. Results :The research results of general knowledge of good respondents were 78 (96.3%), less good as 3 (3.7%), gross motoric knowledge of respondents was 61 (75.3%), less good was 20 (24, 7%), resonden fine motor knowledge is good, namely 66 (81.5%), the less good is 15 (18, 5%), the compliance of the respondent's language is 57 (70.4%), which is less good that is 24 (29 , 6%), knowledge of social resonden development is good, namely 61 (75.3%), which is less good, namely 20 (24.7%) Suggestion :Mothers need to stimulate the development of children from an early age, so that children can achieve good and optimal development, so that there is no delay in the development of children.
