Abstract :
Background: The buildup of inventory amount of drugs and medical supplies for inventory in units of hospital services is an important thing to get attention because of the high cost of inventory. The service unit at emergency Charitas Hospital has 427 types of drugs and alkes which consists of 184 types of health equipment and 243 kinds of drugs. The inventory system used now generates stockpiling. Approach used to minimize inventory at emergency Charitas Hospital using kanban implementation. Kanban is a physical signal usually a card that shows when to order more goods and how many orders Objective: To determine the effect of the application of Kanban method to the cost efficiency of medical supplies and medical supplies in the Charitas Hospital Palembang. Methods: This research method is pre experimental design One Group Pretest Posttest Results: The results obtained with the approach kanban system and can increase efficiency as much as 98% for this type of drug and 85% for the types of medical devices. Evidenced by the Wilcoxon test P value of 0.000 so that it can be concluded there is a significant difference to the efficiency before and after Kanban.
