Abstract :
Palembang Science Center is an education site that introducing science and technology in an applicative and creative way. Palembang Science Center consists of various facility such as science live demo, museum of science, miniature of science live demo, 5 dimensional museum, auditorium, live theater, food court, souvenir shop, and etc. All the facilities will be accomodate in 4 building masses. Palembang Science Center also have a function as: a facility in the field of science education, a place of knowledge of the science and technology development in the present, and a place to apply the result of the education itself. The theme that applied to the design of Palembang Science Center is "Owls". This theme is taken because the owl is the symbol of the field of education. Thus the theme has a meaning that students can be wise in learning a lesson just like the owl characters. This theme is manifested in the building through the concept of the owl metaphorical form with the concept of green architecture with post-modern emphasis.
