Abstract :
The health developmenttoincreasequality ofhuman resourcesisnotdirectlyaffected by
thequality of thegrowth. The period ofgrowth and developmentinthe toddler ageisthe
goldenperiod ofrapidandwill neverbe repeated. Factors that affect
thegrowthincludesleep patternsandacute respiratoryinfections(ISPA). This research
aimsto know the relationshipbetweensleep patternsandduration ofacute
respiratoryinfection(ISPA) withthe growth oftoddlers. This researchwas included in
thearea ofcommunitynursingissues, quantitativeresearchwithcross sectional design. The
number ofsamples used38respondentswhocametoposyanduGloraBakti,health center of
Makrayu Palembang and the dataobtained usinga questionnaire. The results
ofresearchof sleep patternstoddlerevenlydistributionof the38respondents, each
oftoddlersleep patternsgoodandbadis50%. The shortest of ISPAduration is
1dayandthe longestduration is 14days. The frequency distributionof
respondentsgrowthlargelynourishedwas 29 people(76.3%), while
respondentswerelessnutritionalstatusis23.7%.
Bivariateanalysisandgrowthtoddler'ssleep patternsis obtainedby 16(84.2%)
toddlernourishedwithgoodsleep patterns. Whileamongtoddlerswithsleep patternsare
notwellthere is13(68%) werewellnourished. ChiSquareof statistical
testresultsobtainedp value=0.445, it can be concludedthere is nosignificant
relationshipbetweensleep patternswithgrowingtoddlers. The ISPA duration
withgrowthusingthe Mann-Whitney testis obtainedp value0.011<0.05, it can be
concludedthatthere isa significant relationshipbetweenthe duration of ISPA
withtoddlersgrowth. For that neededof cooperationwiththe family, especially the
mothershouldalways monitor the growth oftoddlersthroughtoddlerweight monitoring,
and treatment of thesymptoms of painand giving good nutrition.
