Abstract :
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) experienced by infants as many as 22.000
cases experienced death in the world. Therefore, cases of DHF require special
concern especially refers to the number of DHF cases which is increased from
year to year. It required a more in-depth knowledge about DHF cases in order to
prevent the rising of DHF cases in the future. This study aimed to determine the
level of Relationship of Educational Level and Mother?s Age with Precautions of
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) towards Children under Five in the Work Area
of Sukarami Health Center Palembang 2014. Research design in this study was an
analytic cross sectional survey design. Sampling technique used was accidental
sampling, with number of sample 51 respondents using a questionnaire. From the
results of the Bivariate using chi-square test at a significance limit of ? = < 0.05,
obtained there is significant relationship found between the level of education
with DHF Precautions with p value = 0.000, and There is no relationship of age
with DHF Precautions, with a p value = 0.069. Sukarami Health Centers are
expected to provide input and sample in posyandu or in other work areas of
Sukarami Health Centers to carry out precautions of DHF toward children under
five continuously so that mothers who come to the health centre and or posyandu
understand how to take precaution to the DHF well.
