Abstract :
Background : Teens is a period of transition to adulthood, where they begin to prepare themselves for adult life, including the sexual aspect. Adolescent courtship behavior is also more permissive that as many as 92% of teenagers holding hands while courting, kissing 82%, 63% grope petting. Such behavior triggers teen sexual intercourse. Therefore, to overcome this can be done efforts to improve knowledge, especially about premarital sex, increased knowledge can be through formal and non-formal acquired through reading, listening to counseling, mass media or information from parents.
Objective: This study aims to know picture of student knowledge about premarital sex level 1 at the Catholic University Charitas Palembang Musi.
Methods: This study design using quantitative descriptive method with ap proach. cross sectional Sampling was done by way of total Sampling Number of samples 75 respondents.
Results: The results of a study of 75 students at level 1 in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Catholic University of Charity Palembang Musi about premarital sex, which has a good knowledge of 4 students (5.3%), while having sufficient knowledge of as many as 49 students (65, 3%), and who have less knowledge of as many as 22 students (29.3%). It is expected that this research can add information to the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Catholic University of Musi Charitas Palembang as well as institutions about knowledge about premarital sex owned by study, especially level 1.
