Abstract :
Kawasaki disease is a disease which the etiology is not known clearly and can attacks the coronary arteries of infants and children. In Indonesia, Kawasaki disease is occour rarely, the lack of information relating to this disease, especially treatment from the existing research. Preliminary study that researchers do at RK Hospital. Charity, this disease is a new disease entry in 2015 increased in 2016. So the perception of the treatment of this disease is still a conversation among health workers in the hospital. This study aims to explore in depth the experience of nurses in caring for children with Kawasaki disease in RK Hospital. Charitas Palembang. This study used qualitative method with phenomenology approach. The data were obtained from indepth interview and recorded by using voice record with approval of participant counted 6 people. The Result of study are six themes were obtained: 1) nurse attempts to obtain information about child care with Kawasaki disease, 2) nurse approach, 3) nurse attitude, 4) obstacles found by nurse, 5) nurse's initial response and 6) monitoring performed nurses during IVIG treatment. Based on the results of research recommended to the hospital, especially the children's room is to increase knowledge by seminars, planning and making Nursing Care Standards Kawasaki disease and improve caring and communication teraupetik nurses during treatment.
