Abstract :
Background : Breast milk (ASI) is a liquid as well as food that is given to babies and produced by the mother through the process of collecting breast through the process of breastfeeding. The breastfeeding technique is one of the factors that affect the production of breast milk, where if the breastfeeding technique is incorrect, it can cause leting and make the mother reluctant to take care and the baby reduces breastfeeding which is very useful in stimulating milk production. Data obtained from the Palembang City Health Office, to obtain Exclusive ASI assistance for infants aged 0-6 months by 72.76% in 2017. The lowest coverage for exclusive breastfeeding in the city of Palembang is available in Bukit Kecil Subdistrict, 23 Ilir Palembang Village for 57.19%. Purpose : This study aims to determine the relationship between breastfeeding techniques and the success of breastfeeding in 23 Ilir Community Health Center Patronage Centers. Method :this type of quantitative research uses analytical survey design with a cross sectional approach. Data analysis using the Kendall Tau test with sampling technique is a total sampling of 40 people. Result : the results of this study were not good breastfeeding techniques as many as 23 respondents (57.5%), did not succeed in breastfeeding as many as 23 respondents (57.5%). The Kendall Tau test found that there was a significant relationship between breastfeeding techniques and breastfeeding success (p = value0,001 and Tau: 0,964).
