Abstract :
Background: Preliminary Study Results to 10 nursing students shows that all students describe themselves as merely applying the two carative factors of the 10 factors of Caring Watson's theory. Caring Behavior in Spiritual Charitas subject is to learn about health work is a matter of life that needs to be respected, the noble human dignity to be acknowledged and the condition of the sufferer or the sick person needs to be understood. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between Spiritual Charitas subject with caring of students at Nursing Science Program of Health Sciences Faculty of Catholic University Musi Charitas Palembang. Methods: This research method using Pre-Experiment with Static Group Comparasion design. The sample in this research is student of level II and level IV which have not and have undergone Spiritual Charitas subject in Nursing Science Program Faculty of Health Sciences of Catholic University Musi Charitas Palembang counted 100 responden by using Stratified Random Sampling technique and using Man Whitney U-test and partial correlation test. Results: The results of univariate analysis shows that 80 respondents is female (80%), 63 respondents not have own motivation to be nurse (63%), 27 respondents have low caring behavior in control group (54%), 50 respondents have high caring behavior in intervention group (100%). The result of bivariate analysis with partial correlation test shows that Spiritual Charitas subject have strong positive correlation significantly with caring behavior (r=0,649; p-value <0,001). Based on the results of this study, Spiritual Charitas subject need to be given to explore and improve student caring behavior.
