Abstract :
Exclusive breastfeeding for six months without giving additional food is very important for infants. The objective of this study was to find out whether there was a relationship between the knowledge of mother and husband?s support toward the exclusive breastfeeding at RK. Charitas Hospital conducted on 22 to 27 of June 2015. The method of the study was analytical with Cross Sectional Design. The sample of the study was all mothers who exclusively breastfed. By using accidental sampling technique, there were eighty mothers taken as sample. The result of the study showed there were forty-two mothers or 77.8% were knowledgeable, and twenty-two or 88.0% mentally supported by the husband. Once the Chi-Square test with a significant level of 95% was applied, the p value was 0.578 >? 0.05 at the category of knowledge on exclusive breastfeeding, and p value was 1.000 >? 0.05 at the category of husband?s support. In brief, it could be concluded that there was no relationship between the knowledge of mothers and husband?s support toward the exclusive breastfeeding process. Furthermore, mothers should deliver exclusive breastfeeding to make their infants stay healthy.
