Abstract :
Mental disorder are a set of condition that are not normal, whather related to the physical of the mental. Health education can reduce the difference due to health status or the degree of ignorance, so it is very important for families getting health education to care and be independent for psychiatric patients. The purpose of this study of determine the efect of health education on family to the family knowlage and atitute of treaming mental disorders in outpatient in poly Ernaldi Bahar hospital South Sumatera. This research using metodh quantitative with disagn pre-eksperiment to the one group pre-pos test. The population in this study all families who have a mental disorder sufferers in poly outpatient Ernaldi Bahar hospital. The sample in the study was taken by using purposive sampling and the total sampling are 98 respondents. Statistical test results obtained average velue of knowlage mean before health education is 7,45 and mean statistic after health education is 7,55. And then statistic test result obtained average of atitute mean before health education is 29,96 and the after mean is 30,06. Results of statistical tetst using t-tes obstained p-value = 0.002<0,05 which means there?s influence before and after giving health education. It is expented that health help in providing information about how to treat mental disorder patients in te patients family and re-eksplain if there are families who dosn?t understand.
