Abstract :
To get results with good quality at this time, a uk is required to provide results that are not defective and in accordance with what the customer wants. Palembang Bodykit Workshop is a uk specialized in the field of car body repair or repainting. In the workshop is still the result of defects. As for the presentations, among others are Dirty 39.02%, Meluber Paint 12.02%, Bubbles 14.63% and Curly 34.14%. The root of the problems needed in the results of painting in this workshop include human factors, namely employees who are less focused and related, material factors, namely the quality of raw materials which are improved because of too long storage in the material storage warehouse, machine factors such as scheduling and checking, causing frequent machines damaging, environmental factors are open painting sites and lack of awareness of cleanliness in the painting area and inhibiting methods of workers in the workshop. The improvement uses the Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) method. PDCA method is a process of repairing activities to solve a problem. The defect rate of casting decreased the level of improvement in the painting process in June due to disability by 68% then in July it dropped to 16%.
