Abstract :
Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus can lead to any complication problems; one of them is diabetes ulcers. This research aims at finding out the factors which are related to complications diabetic ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus in Siti Khadijah Islamic Hospital Palembang. This research belongs to quantitative by using survey analytic method with cross sectional design. Purposive sampling is used for sampling technique with the sample was 49. The data were analyzed by using univariate and bivariate statistical tests. Meanwhile, questionnaire sheets, tension gauges, stethoscope, and medical records. For a result, independent t-Test with alternative non-parametric Mann-Whitney Test showed P value = 0.047. It was concluded that there were correlations between Age and complications diabetic ulcers. Besides, Chi-Square test showed there were correlations between smoking and complication diabetic ulcers (P value = 0.024). there was no correlation among hypertension (P value = 0.424), gender (P value = 0.400), and chiropody (P value = 0.688) towards complications diabetic ulcers. Based on the research, health education about diabetes mellitus was required especially in order to avoid complications diabetic mellitus.
