Abstract :
Stroke is defined as a brain attack that occurs suddenly with the death or paralysis on a part or parts of the body. Patients with stroke need rehabilitation programs in order to minimizing the depression level and any stroke complication. This research aims at finding out factors influencing depression level in patients with stroke in nerve poly in Siti Khadijah Islamic Hospital Palembang year 2015. This research belongs to analytic survey with cross sectional design. Purposive sampling is used for sampling technique, with 35 respondents selected through questionnaires. From the bivariate analysis, it was determined that Kurskal Wallis test was used for variable Age, Chi-Square test was for variable Education, One-Way Anova was for variable Functional Ability and Stroke Time Duration (time of suffering from stroke), and Two-Sample Kolmogorof Smirnof test was used for variable Comorbidities and Family Support with a limit of significane ? = 0.005. The research revealed that there were correlations between Age, Education, Functional Ability, Stroke Time Duration and Family Support with Depression Level with p value > 0.05 (Age = 0.118, Education = 0.929, Functional Ability = 0.846, Stroke Time Duration = 0.602, Family Support = 0.612). meanwhile, there were correlations between Comorbidities with Depression Level with p value = 0.019. As suggestion, counceling or extention programs and posters about signs, symptoms, and preventions of stroke were required to ovoid any further complications of stroke.
