Abstract :
This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and competence on the performance of Private Junior High School Teachers in Palembang City. The data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. The population in this study are all Private Junior High School Teachers in Palembang City who are still active, amounting to 4.199 teachers. The collected respondents consisted of 46 online questionnaires and 54 offline questionnaires. Offline questionnaires were obtained from two schools are Junior High School Xaverius 3 and Junior High School Xaverius 6. The sampling selection method used was Convenience sampling and obtained 100 respondents. The analytical tool used in this study was the linear regression analysis. The results obtained showed that simultaneously emotional intelligence and competence variables significantly influence the performance of Private Junior High School Teachers in Palembang City. Partially the variable of emotional intelligence does not significantly influence the performance of Private Junior High School Teachers in Palembang City, while the competence variable significantly influences the performance of Private Junior High School Teachers in Palembang City.
