Abstract :
Bullying is an act of groups or individuals who are abusing their
powers to assert their dominance or just to get a satisfaction of doing it. On the
occasion, roles such as victim and witness are involved. The casualties would
usually reports the incident that has happened to the authority or someone who
can solve the problems between two parties, but lots are keeping one?s mouth
shut. The same thing applies tot the eye wtinesses, some would notify and some
would lay aside. The indifferences occurs due to the fear of both victims and
witness are afraid and terrified of the bullies.
Research purposes: the research was conducted to get the perspective and the
response from victims and eye witnesses to the incident of bullying at Vocational
High School ?Y? Palembang
Method: This research is a quantitative study operated with the descriptive
methods and samples were taken using total sampling consisting of 98
respondents. All the data were gathered with a questionnaire and analyzed using
the descriptive statistics.
Results: The majority of victims (21 respondent) chose not to report the bullying
(56.8%). The majority of eye witnesses (18 respondent) responded by defending
and reporting the bullying (29.5%)
Recommendation: For schools to be able to provide health education the
response that has to be done in case of bullying. The results of this research can
be used as an illustration of the response of victims and eye witnesses to the
incident of bullying.
