Abstract :
Background : Adolescence is a period that occurs in individuals who experience
a transition period from childhood to adulthood, usually occurring at the age of
13-30 years. Teens who are experiencing a transitional period begin to seek
information about sex, either through books, films or other images that are done
in secret.
Objective : This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of
parental education and parenting style with the incidence of early marriage.
Method : This research was conducted in 23 ilirs of Palembang city. The method
used was an analytic survey with a cross sectional survey design. The sample of
this research was 51 people using total sampling technique. Retrieval of data
using a questionnaire sheet. The statistical analysis test used was the FisherExact and Cramer?s V.
Results : research results from 51 respondents obtained results with statistical
tests Fisher Exact results and Cramer?s V, obtained no significant relationship
between the level of parental education and the incidence of early marriage with
p value = 0.244, there is a significant relationship between the parent's parenting
pattern and the incidence of early marriage with p value = 0.000.
Suggestion : from this Study, Respondents can use to add information and can
increase knowledge about the variables that have been discussed to reduce the
incidence of early marriage.
