GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN REMAJA TENTANG PENCEGAHAN PENULARAN HIV DI SMA NEGERI 8 PALEMBANG

Abstract :
Background : In 2019 there were 50.282 people reported with HIV cases, where the highest percentage occurred in the age group of 25-49 years (70,8%), aged 20-24 (15,1%), aged >50 years (8,9%) and aged 15-19 (3%). in adolescent period, the information of HIV prevention and tranmission id often not obtained well. that is why there is a lack of knowladge about how to prevent HIV transmission. Aim : this study aimed to find out of the overview of adolescents? knowledge about HIV transmission and prevention. Methodology : This research was conducted by using Descriptive Survey design with 71 respondents that were taken by using Cluster Random Samplong method. The data were using Statistic Descriptive Test. Result : The results of analysis showed that there were 17 respondents (23,9%) with the age of 16 years, 45 respondents (63,4%) with the age 17 years and 9 respondents (12,7%) with the age of 18 years. The distribution of gender charactheristics showed that there were 30 male (42,3%) and 41 female (57,7%) respondents. From the results of the respondents? knowledge, it was shown that there were 44 respondents (62%) with good knowledge, 16 respondents (22,5%) with sufficient knowledge and 11 respondents (15,5%) with lack of knowledge. Suggestion : Schools are expected to distribute materials about the dangers of HIV to students so that they know what precautions they should take.
