Abstract :
Background: Covid-19 is a virus that attacks the respiratory system of every human being. The prevalence of adolescents who were confirmed by COVID-19 in 2020 in the world was 2,572 and in Indonesia 4,162. To prevent the high prevalence, knowledge, attitude and compliance are needed in applications such as washing hands, wearing masks and keeping a distance.
Objective: It is known that the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of adolescents with the level of compliance with the prevention of covid-19 by implementing 3M at SMA Xaverius 3 Palembang.
Methods: This research is a quantitative study with a cross analytic survey design using a cross sectional design. The number of samples in this study were 208 respondents using total sampling technique. The statistical analysis test used was the Kendall Tau test.
Results: The results showed the characteristics of adolescents by age with a median of 15 years, a minimum of 14 years and a maximum of 17 years and female gender (51.4%). Respondents who have good knowledge are (93.3%), positive attitudes are (93.3) and high levels of compliance are (76.4%). The results of the analysis using the Kendall Tau test found that there was a relationship between knowledge and the level of compliance with Covid-19 prevention by applying 3M with a p value of 0.0001.
Conclusion: It is hoped that teenagers will be able to maintain knowledge, attitudes and compliance in the spread of the Covid-19 chain.
Suggestion: It is hoped that adolescents can increase their knowledge, attitudes and obedience in reducing the impact of covid-19.
