Abstract :
Background: Blood glucose examination is divided according to time, namely blood glucose levels while, fasting blood glucose, or blood glucose levels two hours after eating. The most widely used method for checking blood glucose is the GOD-PAP method. Blood glucose examination in the laboratory can be done using Semi automatic and Automatic tools. This study aims to determine differences in blood glucose levels while using the GOD-PAP method using Semi Automatic and Automatic tools.
Objective: To know the level of blood glucose while using the GOD-PAP method using Semi Automatic and Automatic tools.
Methods: This study is a quantitative study with an analytical observational research design, namely a cross-sectional approach. The subjects of this study were all patients who would be hospitalized at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province. The collected venous blood is processed into serum, then the blood glucose results are checked using Semi Automatic and Automatic tools. The results of blood glucose examination when analyzed by paired T test with 95% confidence level.
Results: The average blood glucose level when using the Semi Automatic device is 104.21 mg/dl. The average blood glucose level when using the Automatic device is 102.89 mg/dl.
Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the results of the examination of blood glucose levels when using Semi Automatic and Automatic devices with a value of (sig 2 tailed) 0.217 > 0.05.
Suggestion: Semi Automatic and Automatic devices can still be used for checking blood glucose at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital. Further research can use a larger number of samples with a variety of research subjects in different populations.
