Abstract :
Each new school year, Xaverius 2 Senior High School Palembang did the admission of the new selection. The selection is done by organizing the academic potential of tests for classifying the determination of the Department of SCIENCES or IPS. In conducting classification determination majors often happen inaccuracies in processing the test result value of prospective students, so built applications that can help the school in conducting classification determination of majors. Where applications are built applying Naïve Bayes classification. The process of classification of the stages performed i.e. finding the value of probability based on testing data set of each class by looking at reference data from the training. Then the result of probability is multiplied for each class. The end result of that multiplication will be compared, where bigger results will be the class of the testing data. Thus the application of the Naïve Bayes algorithm will ease in the determination of the classification of MIPA majors and IPS because the steps are simple with only comparing the results of the multiplication of the probability of each class. The criteria used in this study is the UN Indonesia Language, UN English Language, UN Mathematics, UN science, TPA Indonesian Language, TPA English Language, TPA Mathematics, TPA Science, TPA IPS, and Psycological Test Result. The results obtained in this study is an application to classifying the determination of the Department of SCIENCES and IPS classes by applying Naïve Bayes algorithm.
