Abstract :
Examination of hemoglobin levels of pregnant women in laboratories throughout the Palembang City Health Center, most of them have used a Hematology Analyzer, but the type of sample used does not always use venous blood because not all venous blood collections are always successful, so capillary blood then becomes an alternative choice for patient samples. still obtainable. Objective : To determine the difference between venous and capillary blood hemoglobin levels in pregnant women using the cyanide-free method at the Empat Ulu Public Health Center, Palembang City. Methods: This study used analytic observation. The samples used were pregnant women at the Empat Ulu Health Center as many as 31 people who entered the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sampling technique used quota sampling. The data that had been obtained were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank test. Results: The results of the measurement of hemoglobin levels in venous blood obtained a median value of 11.0 g/dl, a maximum value of 12.6 g/dl and a minimum value of 8.4 g/dl, while a median value of 11.1 g/dl was obtained for capillary blood, a maximum value of 12, 8 g/dl and a minimum value of 8.4 g/dl. The results of the Wilcoxon Sign Rank test obtained a probability value of 0.591. Conclusion: There is no difference in hemoglobin levels in venous blood and capillary blood in pregnant women with a probability value of 0.591. Suggestion: The cyanide-free method of measuring hemoglobin levels can use venous blood samples if there are other tests that require large samples or use capillary blood if no other tests are available.
