Abstract :
This study aims to describe the relevance of ethnomathematical studies and explain the forms of flat shapes that exist in the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Jayowikramo Palembang Grand Mosque building. The Sultan Mahmud BadaruddinJayowikramo Palembang Grand Mosque is located in 19 Ilir Village, Ilir Barat I District, on Jalan Sudirman, downtown Palembang. The method used in this study is a qualitative research with an ethnomathematical approach. The research subjects were the general secretary, supervisory secretary and TU employees at the foundation. Data collection techniques carried out by researchers through several processes, namely by observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research has research limitations, namely the research conducted in this study, the mathematical material discussed is flat shape. The results showed that there was a mathematical concept of flat material in each part of the Great Mosque of Sultan Mamhmud Badaruddin Jayowikramo Palembang. So that in the process of learning mathematics, the flat wake material can use the context of the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Jayawikramo Palembang building.
