Abstract :
Resi Krispanny1734009 Differences in 12-Hour Fasting and Non-Fasting Blood Triglyceride Levels in Medical Laboratory Technology DIV Students. SKRIPSI PROGRAM STUDI DIV TEKNOLOGI LABOLATORIUM MEDIS FAKULTAS ILMU KESEHATAN UNIVERSITAS KATOLIK MUSI CHARITAS Background: There are three stages of laboratory examination, namely pre-analytic, analytical, and post-analytic. The pre-analytic stage of patient preparation is one of the factors that can affect triglyceride levels. Factors associated with increased triglyceride levels in the population such as obesity, smoking, high-carbohydrate diet and excessive alcohol consumption. Increased triglyceride levels are at risk for the occurrence of difficult cardiovascular disease. Examination of triglycerides is required to fast for 12 hours before taking blood. Facts in the field there is still an examination of triglyceride levels without fasting first. Therefore, this study aims to see the difference in the results of fasting blood triglyceride levels 12 hours and not fasting. Objective:Knowing the results of the examination of triglyceride levels examined in a fasting and non-fasting state. Methods: This research is an analytic observational study using a cross-sectional approach with a group comparison statistical research design and using a random sampling technique. The research subjects used were 30 students of the Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program. The tool used is Biosystem A-15 with Biochemistry Control Serum Lv. 1 and Lv. 2, the method verification test has been carried out first. Results: The results of this study entitled the difference in blood triglyceride levels fasting 12 hours and not fasting blood triglyceride levels obtained average 12 hours 97,2 mg/dL and non-fasting 112,3 mg/dL. It was stated that there was a significant difference in the results of the examination of fasting triglyceride levels for 12 hours without fasting with a value of p = 0.000 (p>0.05). Conclusion: Based on this study, it was concluded that there was a significant difference between fasting and non-fasting 12-hour fasting triglyceride levels. Suggestion: To check triglycerides, it is better to fast 12 hours before taking the blood. Keywords: Fasting, not fasting, triglyceride. PRAKATA
