Abstract :
Ethnomathematics is a mathematical study of culture where mathematics emerges by understanding the reasoning and mathematical systems used. One form of ethnomathematics in culture and history in the city of Palembang is the State Museum of South Sumatra, Balaputera Dewa, which is one of the public museums in South Sumatra, the city of Palembang. The purpose of this study is to examine the State Museum of South Sumatra Balaputera Dewa in the concept of introducing geometry to collections and historical relics in the museum. This type of research is a qualitative research using an ethnographic approach. The subjects of this research are museum guides, museum managers and museum staff. Data collection techniques are by conducting observations, interviews, documentation and triangulation of data sources. Data analysis techniques in the form of reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are geometric concepts contained in the buildings and types of collections in the Balaputera Dewa State Museum of South Sumatra.
