Abstract :
Advances in technology allow the use of SMS with mobile facilities that can be used for information services. Every year many students from outside the city of Palembang come to STIKes Perdhaki Charity to register a prospective student. They are having trouble receiving incoming information test results because the test results are only delivered on notice boards and not same day during the test. This becomes a problem, because the new admissions process that takes several days and most prospective students are from areas that have limited technology to get information, either through the internet and so on. Then designed an SMS Gateway application for new student registration information at STIKes Perdhaki Caritas Palembang. These applications include service exam schedules, results pass the exam, the cost to be paid and so on. The method used to design this application using Waterfall process model, the collection of data by observation and interviews with committee Sipenmaru. SMS Gateway application is using the package Xampp (Apache, MySql and phpMyAdmin), PHP CodeIgniter Framework, Gammu and hardware such as modem/phone. SMS Gateway application can help providing information needs both single and multiple SMS during the registration process for new students, but for SMS auto-reply can not be executed because of the limitations of the modem.
