Abstract :
This study aims to describe how the principal's competence in improving teacher performance at Xaverius 4 Elementary School Palembang. The principal's competency activities are carried out by conducting supervision, supervision is carried out by the principal as an informant with the teacher to be supervised. Therefore, supervision carried out for teachers and other employees is very necessary for teachers and other employees. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the research subject of the principal as the main data informant, then the data from the principal will be checked through 6 teachers at each level. This study uses technical triangulation analysis, namely by comparing the data from the results using interviews, observations, documentation and questionnaires. The research subjects were 7 teachers, namely the principal as the informant, as the main data and 6 teachers at each level. The form of competence carried out by the principal is to supervise, monitor, and evaluate which is carried out to improve the learning system carried out by teachers and employees. Likewise with the principal. During supervision, the principal is very enthusiastic in carrying out his duties, all planning can be carried out in an orderly and disciplined manner, so that all planning before pre-supervision can go according to plan. Thus it can be concluded that the principal's competence has shown positive results and has a positive contribution to the performance of teachers at Xaverius 4 Elementary School Palembang.
