Abstract :
This article is to investigate the implementation of English foreign language teaching activities in
kindergarten schools in Gresik. To get the data the researcher chooses 3 EYL teachers as the
subjects. The 3 EFL teachers above had been qualified as the criteria of English teacher who are
able to communicate in English, graduated from S1, had experience in teaching EFL
kindergarten 3 years, had a teacher certificate or recommendation to teach English and use
English most of the time in EFL classroom. The data were collected from observation by field
notes and by unstructured interview from the EFL kindergarten teachers. The result of this study
showed that the teachers used TPR (Total Physical Response) strategy to teach EFL kindergarten
student. The procedures of using TPR are as follows: the teachers are doing some activities then,
they give English explicit instructions. After that the teacher asks to the students to follow and let
the students respond the classroom activities. The last procedure is that the teachers review and
re-enforce the English language expressions.
