Abstract :
Stemming is a way to eliminate affixes such as prefixs and endings to get a root word (Novitasari,2016). The stemming algorithm by Nazief & Adriani has a lacks rules (algorithms) to eliminate affixes so that they experience overstemming or understemming. Based on Jaro Winkler method, in this study was used to find the basic words by measuring the similarity between two words. The words tested are 50 words that have overstemming/understemming. From the result of the trial obtained an accuracy of 62%.
