Abstract :
Premarital sexual behavior is a phenomenon that currently occurs among students. Premarital sex is behavior where a person engages in sexual activity or has intimate relations with a partner who is not married, whether carried out by a man or a woman. Premarital sexual behavior can continue to occur if someone does not have a good understanding of premarital sexual behavior. One of the factors predicted to reduce the occurrence of premarital sexual behavior in overseas students is self-control. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of self-control on premarital sexual behavior of overseas students. The design of this research is non-experimental quantitative with a total of 215 respondents. The scales used are the self-control scale and the premarital sexual behavior scale. The sampling technique is purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used is simple linear regression test analysis. The results showed that there was an influence of self-control on premarital sexual behavior in overseas students (? = -0.571, p = 0.000) with an effective contribution of 32.6%.
