Abstract :
Personal data is individual data that is stored, maintained, and kept true and also protected by confidentiality. Of course there are various kinds of rules that regulate personal data in Indonesia but there is no single rule that specifically regulates personal data itself. The problem in this research is how the legal protection of personal data in terms of the principle of legal certainty, as well as the ius constituendum on the regulation of personal data in Indonesia. This study uses normative legal research using a statutory approach and a case approach. The collection of legal materials through the literature study method, with primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The conclusion from the results of this study shows that the current regulations still do not provide concrete protection because personal data itself does not have a law that specifically regulates and binds it. Laws that protect personal data are still mirrored by previous laws.
