Abstract :
This study aims to determine the effect of the percentage addition of active flux Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) on welding ASTM A36 steel with the Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) welding method. The addition of the active flux of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) directly affects the mechanical properties of the ASTM A36 steel. Variations in the addition of the active flux of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) are 0.5 gram, 1 gram, 1.5 gram and 2 gram. From the test results, it was found that the highest impact value was 1.8 Joule/mm2 for a variation of 1.5 grams of active flux addition, the lowest impact value was 1.29 Joule/mm2 for a variation of 2 grams of flux addition. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that the variation of the addition of active flux Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) in welding ASTM A36 steel with the FCAW welding method can affect the mechanical properties of the metal alloy.
