Abstract :
Plastic waste as a by-product of community activities is the largest contributor to waste in Indonesia, so special handling is needed so that the plastic problem can be resolved. One way is to use the plastic as an additive to asphalt mixture. The plastic used is LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) type plastic. The purpose of this study is one of the efforts to manage plastic andto know the marshall characteristics of Latasir B mixture with asphalt penetration 60/70 plus LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) plastic waste. The method used is an experiment carried out in the laboratory with mixed proportion planning using the Directorate General of Highways (CQCMU) method. The results of the study found that the characteristics of the marshall mixture of Latasir B with asphalt plus LDPE plastic 2.4% to 3.24%,marshall stability values are 3304.98 kg to 3750 kg, marshall quotient values are 7.97 kN/mm to 11.23 kN/mm, air void volume values are 4.27% to 6.00% and film thickness values use bitumen added LDPE plastic from 2.4% to 3.0% decreased from 7.02 µm to 6.98 µm and increased the plastic content from 3.0% to 3.24%, namely 6.98 µm to 7.02 µm. A mixture of Latasir B with asphalt plus LDPE plastic with a maximum plastic content of 3.24% showed a good and positive effect on the marshall characteristic value of the asphalt mixture.
